Lin to Lead Universal's Suzhou Technology Laboratory

Binghamton, N.Y. — Universal Instruments has extended the capabilities and expertise of its Suzhou, China, technology laboratory by appointing Kon M. Lin, Ph.D. as process support manager.
Lin, originally from China near Suzhou, holds a Ph.D. from Cornell University and also has studied in Taiwan. He will coordinate work on all Asian customer requirements between the two Universal laboratories at Suzhou and Binghamton. He also will drive future development of the Suzhou technology laboratory.
Lin is an established research expert, and has worked at AT&T/Lucent for more than 20 years, including a position at the company's Bell Laboratories division, which pioneered today's electronic industry by inventing the transistor.
