Proto-Pac Engineering Moves to New Facility
November 14, 2003 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
Wilmington, Mass. — Proto-Pac Engineering Inc. has moved from its previous location of 15 years in Wakefield, Mass. to a newer, modern 20,000 sq ft production facility in an industrial "campus" setting in Wilmington.
For more than 35 years Proto-Pac has served OEMs in the Northeast with small- to mid-volume and high-mix production requirements. In addition to through-hole, surface mount and mixed technology PCB assembly in either consignment or turnkey modes, Proto-Pac also provides quick-turn prototyping, new product introduction (NPI) services with design for manufacturability (DFM) reporting, box build, functional and in-circuit testing (ICT), along with engineering change order (ECO) and rework services.
Proto-Pac employs a real-time enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system networked throughout the facility for continuous control of materials, manufacturing and services.
Proto-Pac maintains a formal in-house training program for assemblers and inspectors taught by a certified IPC trainer on staff. An experienced quality manager with more than 15 years of experience in electronic contract manufacturing oversees the entire quality program. A team of account managers provides each customer with a single point of contact and acts as an internal customer advocate within Proto-Pac.
