November 13, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
São Paulo, Brazil — For five days, electronicAmericas, a regional fair for electronic components and assemblies, electronics production and photonics, attracted trade visitors above all from Brazil and South America, but also from the United States, Asia and Europe.
From October 6 through 10, 2003, a total of 298 exhibitors and co-exhibitors presented their product portfolios including the latest developments and technologies at the Anhembi Trade Fair Grounds in São Paulo, Brazil. According to the fair's organizers, Munich Fairs International Group and Alcantara Machado, some 46,000 developers, buying agents and managers representing the domestic and international electronics industry attended electronicAmericas and the FIEE (Feira Internacional da Indústria El&3233trica), which was held in conjunction with the fair. According to the exhibitors, some 1.5 billion US dollars in sales was generated at South America's most important event for the electronics industry. Exhibitors were satisfied with the large number of trade visitors, but also were impressed by the visitors' quality.
As a business and technology platform for electronics, electronicAmericas is a breeding ground for new contacts and partnerships. As a result, once again the fair emphasized its status as the most important decision-maker and technology event for the South American electronics market.
Approximately 20 percent of the exhibitors at electronicAmericas were from Brazil; the other 240 companies were from the United States, Canada, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Germany. Several companies such as Fuji, Samsung, Agilent, Semikron and Micronas were represented by their regional subsidiaries. Participants from China, Taiwan, India and Great Britain exhibited in national pavilions.
The fairgrounds where electronicAmericas 2003 was held met with the overwhelming approval of exhibitors and visitors alike. The Anhembi Trade Fair Grounds, which features state-of the-art exhibition technology and a modern infrastructure, will remain the venue for the regional trade fair for electronic components and assemblies, electronics production and photonics in the future, as well. The next electronicAmericas will be held in the spring of 2005.
electronicAmericas is the key regional fair for components, assemblies and electronics production and photonic technologies. It is part of Global electronics, MMI's international electronics network.
