Ron Lasky Honored With SMTA Founder's Award

Chicago — Ron Lasky, Ph.D., PE, senior technologist at Indium Corp. of America and an SMT Editorial Advisory Board member, was honored yesterday with the SMTA's Founder's Award at its Annual Meeting here at SMTA International.
The Founder's Award honors individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the industry, as well as support and service to the SMTA.
Other awards presented included the Hutchins Educational Grant, which was awarded to Andrew Perkins of the Georgia Institute of Technology. Jean-Paul Clech, Ph.D., of EPSI was honored as a Member of Distinction, while Jeff Kennedy of Manufacturer's Services Ltd. and Jim Kuehn of Tyco Automation received the Excellence in Leadership Award. The SMTA+ Corporate Partnership Award was presented to 3M Co., and the Chapter of the Year Award went to the LA/Orange County Chapter.
The awards ceremony was capped off by guest speaker Brian Swiggett, co-founder and managing partner of Prismark Partners, who presented "Prospering in a Reshaped Electronics Industry."
