LTCC Market on the Rise, Says IMS Research
June 12, 2003 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
Wellingborough, England — Merchant hybrid manufacturers are starting to seize the opportunities for low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC), according to a new report by IMS Research on the European hybrid circuit and MCM market.
IMS Research forecasts the merchant LTCC market will triple in size over the next five years to reach US $120.6 million (73 million pounds) in 2007.
One of the biggest hurdles merchant suppliers have faced is that many large European users of LTCC already have internal production. However, the IMS Research study shows that major captive LTCC manufacturers plan to go to the merchant market for a second source, possibly licensing their capability to broaden the availability of the technology.
IMS Research is a leading specialist electronics industry market research company, focusing on semiconductors, electronic components, communications, automotive and industrial applications. For more information, visit www.imsresearch.com.
