May 30, 2003 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
Chino and Menlo Park, Calif. — Desco Industries Inc. and OK International Inc., a subsidiary of Dover Corp., have finalized an agreement for the sale to Desco of all assets of Semtronics, OK International's ESD division.
Under the terms of the agreement, Desco will acquire all existing inventory, tools and equipment pertaining to the range of ESD products and accessories and will have the right to market these under the Semtronics name and brand, as well as its own name and brand. Desco has also acquired the right to use the logo, trademarks and URL of Semtronics.
This divestiture will allow OK International Inc., whose primary business is in the broader electronics and general assembly industries, to focus on its core brands — METCAL (soldering tools and PCB repair and rework equipment), TECHCON (material dispensing systems), and IMPELL (fume extraction equipment).
Metcal, a division of OK International, is focused on satisfying the production and rework needs of production engineers in the electronics assembly industry. Metcal provides innovative, highly engineered equipment. For more information, visit www.metcal.com.
