Berufsakademie Baden Wurttemberg Integrates Tecnomatix Manufacturing Process Management Solutions into Curriculum
January 23, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Germany and Nashua, N.H. -- Berufsakademie Baden Wurttemberg, Germany's University of Cooperative Education, will begin training all industry partners and new engineering students on Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd.'s eMPower MPM solutions
A practice-oriented higher education institution, Berufsakademie works in partnership with manufacturing companies throughout the educational process to ensure students receive the necessary real-world training to succeed in the manufacturing industry. Incorporating the Tecnomatix eMPower solution into its eight locations -- including Heidenheim, Horb, Karlsruhe, Lorrach, Mannheim, Mosbach, Ravensburg, Stuttgart -- will help the University produce highly qualified graduates with solid hands-on experience in MPM.
Berufsakademie students will train on the Tecnomatix eM-Workplace 3-D layout design application, allowing students to integrate detailed layout design and material flow simulation in a single environment. Offering students the ability to create 3-D layouts, conduct human task and material flow simulations, and perform logistics analysis, eM-Workplace enables students to experience first-hand the benefits of integrating MPM into the manufacturing environment. Real-world benefits the students will experience include reduced layout planning efforts, shortened assembly cycle time, improved ergonomics and worker safety, and reduced ramp-up time and time-to-volume.
Berufsakademie's decision to integrate the eM-Workplace solution into its curriculum is an extension of the established relationship between the University and Tecnomatix. The University has been training its students for three years on the Tecnomatix eM-Plant solution, which enables the modeling and simulation of production systems and processes.
Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd. is the driving force in Manufacturing Process Management (MPM). For more information, visit www.tecnomatix.com.
The Berufsakademie is an institution in which employers and state cooperate in a system of higher education. Currently the University is working together with more than 5.000 training companies. For more information, visit www.ba-heidenheim.de.
