Tom Ryan Joins Accent to Head X-ray Diffraction Business

Bend, Ore. -- Accent Optical Technologies has appointed Tom Ryan, Ph.D. to director of business development, X-ray Diffraction.
Ryan will be leading Accent's business and marketing efforts in the X-ray diffraction market and the emerging strained silicon and gallium nitride inline process control market.
Ryan joins Accent with more than 25 years of experience combining sound scientific knowledge with strong strategic marketing skills. In the mid 1980s Ryan pioneered triple axis X-ray diffraction and was instrumental in introducing reciprocal space mapping to the semiconductor industry. He headed the team that developed the Philips Materials Research Diffractometer (MRD) and became global product manager for Philips X-ray diffraction.
Most recently, Ryan held the position of director of marketing for Emcore. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Dundee College of Technology in the UK, 1976. He received his Ph.D. from University of Edinburgh in High Resolution X-ray Scattering Studies of Structural Phase Transitions, 1985.
