1999 VISION Awards
December 31, 1969 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
For the eighth consecutive year, SMT Magazine rewards 14 worthy companies with its 1999 VISION Awards. This year marks a change in venue for the ceremony, as it takes place at APEX. Awards are presented in the following categories: Adhesives/Coatings/ Encapsulants, Assembly Tools, Cleaning, Components, Contract Services, Dispensing Equipment, Inspection, Pick-and-Place, Printing, Rework & Repair, Software, Soldering Equipment, Soldering Materials, and Testing.
A distinguished panel of industry experts evaluated each submission based on its: ability to meet a significant industry challenge; creative application of a new or existing technology; overall quality and consistency of performance; economic merits; and throughput characteristics. Products were judged specifically on their innovativeness, cost-effectiveness, speed/throughput improvements, quality contribution, ease of use, maintainability/ repairability and environmental responsibility. An independent market research firm audited entries.
Winners of SMT Magazine`s VISION Awards will be announced March 13 at an awards presentation ceremony. Winners receive a crystal display award, the right to use the 1999 VISION Awards identity and will be featured in the May VISION Awards spotlight issue of SMT Magazine.
