Canadian CM Expands Facilities
December 31, 1969 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada - Mitronix Inc. announced the completion of the most recent expansion of the company`s facilities. Reportedly done because of a large increase in customer orders in 1999, the company expanded its facility to 13,000 sq. ft. and acquired additional assembly machines.
The expansion encompasses the addition of a third complete assembly line and increased storage parts area. A Europlacer Vitesse pick-and-place system anchors the new assembly line. Additional assembly stations for manual assembly work were also added. The expansion is expected to result in the creation of 20 new full-time positions.
"The Vitesse ... allows us to have high-speed throughput in conjunction with the flexibility of mid-range fine-pitch placers," said Brian Plester, president of Mitronix. "We can now place components ranging from 0402s to 50 mm2 QFPs at 20,000 cph."
