Compal Posts Strong 1H 2015 Results

Despite reporting lower revenues for July, Taiwan ODM firm Compal Electronics Inc. has posted consolidated revenue of NT$397.145 billion ($12.365 billion at $1:NT$32.12) for the first half of the year, up by 7% year-on-year. Consolidated operating profit was NT$5.642 billion ($175.65 million), up 9% compared to the same period last year, and operating margin rate improved to 1.42% from 1.39% a year ago. Net profit was NT$3.515 billion ($109.43 million), and net profit attributed to the parent company was NT$3.522 billion ($109.65 million).

For the second quarter, Compal's consolidated revenue was NT$199 billion ($6.195 billion), almost the same level from the previous quarter, but down by 1% from the same period in 2014. Consolidated operating profit was NT$2.42 billion ($75.37 million), down by 25% quarter-on-quarter, and down by 16% year-on-year. Consolidated net profit was NT$1.49 billion ($46.48 million), and net profit contributed to the parent company was NT$1.506 billion ($46.89 million).
