Contract manufacturer OCM Manufacturing of Ottawa has added a new pick and place system to its roster of electronics manufacturing equipment, enhancing the process of surface mounting devices onto printed circuit boards and expanding the firm's electronics prototyping capability.
With the new equipment, OCM aims for faster development and manufacture of prototypes for clients in a variety of sectors, including military, industrial, mining, construction and automotive applications.
George Henning, president of OCM Manufacturing, said the new machine is up and running and has already been deployed on a number of customers’ electronic prototypes. "It's a timely addition to our production capability. We want to be able to manufacture prototypes quickly and efficiently and compare them against commercial manufacturing criteria. The new Pick and Place machine will do that for a number of existing and new clients."
