EPE Drives Significant Quality Improvements with Aegis MES Software
May 24, 2016 | EPE CorporationEstimated reading time: 1 minute
EPE Corporation, industry experts in high-reliability electronics manufacturing since 1965, first selected Aegis as their Manufacturing Software System (MES) vendor in 2000.
“In 2000, EPE was looking for a long-term, cost-effective manufacturing software solution to provide the necessary insight into our manufacturing processes to drive greater efficiencies and improve activities,” notes James “JD” Bell, President and CEO of EPE. “We did a lot of research on various software solutions before finally selecting Aegis. To this day, we can say that Aegis was a great fit for us, without which we would not be where we are today,” he adds.
“The Aegis MES software system has allowed EPE to dramatically improve our New Product Introduction (NPI) process turnaround times, improve our product quality by automating the data collection and analysis processes, and as a result, improve our overall performance for our customers. Since we purchased Aegis, we have achieved near six-sigma level quality in our surface-mount operations, improved our on-time delivery by 67%, and have achieved year-after-year growth in revenues and profitability in a very competitive and demanding EMS marketplace. Aegis Software has been instrumental to our success,” says JD Bell.
Some of the key Aegis MES functions that allows EPE to remain a strong EMS provider are:
- NPI Automation
- Real-time WIP Tracking
- Materials Control
- Machine Data Acquisition for Quality and Performance
- Factory-Wide Paperless and Version Control
- Deviation management
- Full System Box Build & Genealogy Control
- User-Designed Real-time Dashboards
- User-Designed Reports
- Statistical Process Control
- Certificates of Conformance
