Brady Announces New Ultra-Durable Black Polyester Labels

Brady has announced its new ultra-durable black polyester labels (B-8117). These labels achieve the black color through the adhesive layer rather than the topcoat, which results in more robust color permanence. Since the color is sealed inside the label construction, color durability is dramatically increased, making it less likely to lose the black appearance over time.

“Brady’s new durable black polyester labels are ideal for regulatory labels on electrical components, finished goods, automotive labels, general ID and asset tracking,” says Jennifer Smith, regional product manager for Brady. “They provide the resilience to stand up to industrial electrical environments and keep labels readable for improved efficiency and safety.”

The powerful combination of this material’s topcoat and the R6800 ribbon produce superior print durability against both abrasions and harsh fluids, as well as consistently achieves Barcode Grade B or greater.

Excerpt: The Printed Circuit Assembler’s Guide to… Smart Data

04/07/2021 | Sagi Reuven and Zac Elliott, Siemens Digital Industries Software
Whenever we discuss data, keep in mind that people have been collecting data, verifying it, and translating it into reports for a long time. And if data is collected and processes are changed automatically, people still will be interpreting and verifying the accuracy of the data, creating reports, making recommendations, solving problems, tweaking, improving, and innovating. Whatever data collection system is used, any effort to digitalize needs to engage and empower the production team at the factory. Their role is to attend to the manufacturing process but also to act as the front line of communications and control.
